Robert "Woody" G. Woodward

Mr. Robert G. "Woody" Woodward, age 94 of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday, January 25, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home.  He was born on June 13, 1924 in East Jordan, Michigan to Dennis & Beatrice (Miles) Woodward.  He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the Newaygo VFW Post #4249.  Bob had been employed by Gerber Products Company in Fremont for 12 years, and he had worked for Keeler Brass in Grand Rapids for 23 years until his retirement in 1988.  He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Newaygo, he enjoyed woodworking & cutting wood, and he loved being with family.  Bob's favorite activity was chatting with everyone he met.  He was preceded in death by 3 wives:  Lee (Hammond), Florence (Sunderlin), & Adonna White; by his son, Randy Woodward; by his granddaughter, Tammi Woods; by his brother & his wife, Allen & Marge Woodward; and by his brother-in-law, Donn Stehouwer.  Bob is survived by 5 children:  Dorothy Willson, Robert (Kathy) Woodward, Ted (Nancy) Woodward, Rose Rogers, Becky (Paul) German; daughter-in-law, Amy Woodward Chatfield; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, & 9 great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters:  Linda Ward & Lois Stehouwer.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Newaygo with Pastor Wes Smith officiating.  There will also be a time of visiting at the church with the family from 10-11 AM on Saturday morning.  Interment will be in Oakgrove Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  The First Baptist Church of Newaygo Building Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
