Mrs. Ruth Anne Scott, age 80 of Fremont, passed away on Friday, August 30,2019 at home. She was born on June 26, 1939 in Fremont to Arnold & Pearl (Veenstra) Lubbers. She grew up in Fremont on her family farm with her 3 brothers: Gerald, Ted and Donny. She attended Fremont Christian School and later Fremont High School where she was a cheerleader. She had lots of friends in high school that she had kept in close contact with over the last 60+ years. She worked at Gerber in Fremont and later at Howmet in Whitehall, until her retirement in 2000. Ruth Anne had a smile that would light up a room and loved to visit with people. It seemed that no matter where she went, she knew someone. She married Wesley Scott in 1960 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2000. She is survived by 4 children: Julie Scott (David Johnson), Wesley Scott, Robin (Ray) Driggs, Sonia (Michael) Stucko; 6 grandchildren: Jeremy Scott, Daniel Scott, Becca Scott, Evan Driggs, Quinn Driggs, Larkyn Stucko; brother, Gerald Lubbers; and friends since high school “through thick and thin”: Sandy Derks, Leona Isenhart, and Rosely Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donny Lubbers and Ted Lubbers. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family at the funeral home from 2-4 P.M. on Thursday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
