Mr. Alfred “Al” Busch, age 95 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. He was born on July 23, 1925 in Fremont, Michigan to Fred & Mary (Deur) Busch. Al was a life member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church. He had worked for Standard Lumber for many years, and he had owned & operated Westwood Hardware until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, and volunteering and fixing things for Love INC and Habitat for Humanity. Al was the first resident at Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont, where he was often referred to as the “mayor”. On November 20, 1946 he married Harriet Visscher, and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jeff Jahr; by his brothers, Harold & Bob Busch; and by his sisters, Gladys Luchie & Marge Morrison. Al is survived by his children: Michael (Joan) Busch of Florida, Carla (Leon) Proctor of Fremont, Ken Busch of Grand Rapids, Janet (Phil) Myers of Texas, & Lisa Jahr of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Connie Busch of Fremont; 13 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren; and by several nieces & nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at Reeman Cemetery on Friday, October 16, 2020 with Pastor Les VanDyke officiating.
