Alice (Aaltje) Braafhart, age 90 of Fremont, passed away late Friday evening, January 5, 2024 at her home. She was born on April 30, 1933 in Ede, The Netherlands to Morrise & Alida (Bakkenes) Braafhart, Sr. Alice was retired from the Food Services Department at Gerber Hospital, and she had previously been employed by Brookhouse Cleaners. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Fremont, and she was an avid gardener. Alice also did a lot of volunteer work for American Decency Association and for her church. She is survived by 2 brothers: Casper (Blanca) Braafhart of Mission, Texas, Harry (Brigitte) Braafhart of Fremont; and by many nieces & nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her twin sister Gertrui Braafhart, and by her brothers: Marinus Braafhart, Morris Braafhart, Jr., & Gerald Braafhart. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Joel Zuidema officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Saturday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Suggested Memorials: American Decency Association, or First Reformed Church.
