Alice Louise (Mavis) Davis

Alice Louise Davis, age 81, a beloved resident of Newaygo, passed away early Friday morning, October 16, 2020 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in White Cloud.  She was born on November 27, 1938 in Muskegon, Michigan to Robert & Edna (Barnes) Mavis , and was raised by her grandmother, Alice Leosh.  Alice had been employed at KT Laundromat in Newaygo for 42 years until her retirement in 2018.  She enjoyed hiking, bicycling, mushroom hunting, and doing home projects.  Alice is survived by 3 sons:  John Wayne (Penny) Davis, Jr. of Fremont, Franklin Charles (Carmelita) Davis of Newaygo, Gary Davis of Newaygo; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way.  She is also survived by someone special that called her mom, Gabriela (Ismael) Acosta & her son Isaac of Grand Rapids; 1 adopted brother, Kenneth (Anita) Leosh of Grand Rapids; and 1 adopted sister, Ann (Kelly) Wheelock of Florida.  Alice was preceded in death by her parents, and by her adopted brother Norman Leosh.  A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Hillside Cemetery near Grant with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  Please remember to social distance with no hugging or hand shaking, masks are required, and you are asked to bring your own lawn chair and umbrella.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
