Alvin "Al" Frens

Alvin “Al” Frens, age 93 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.  He was born on April 6, 1929 in Reeman, Michigan to Albert & Cornelia “Kate” (Blauw) Frens.  Al was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and he was a member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church.  He had owned & operated Fremont Builders, Inc. for many years, and later went on to be the maintenance supervisor for Fremont Public Schools.  On May 20, 1955 he married Betty Homan, and she preceded him in death on February 1, 2022.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey & Bernard Frens; and by his sister, Helene Frens.  Al is survived by 3 children:  Coleen (Ron) Rossman, Thomas Frens, Paul (Trincie) Frens; and 2 grandchildren, Josie & Creed Frens.  A celebration of Al’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke officiating.  Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Reeman Christian Reformed Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
