On Thursday, June 17, 2021 Ann Van’t Slot- Karnemaat passed away peacefully at age 88. Ann was the surprise twin sister to Peter arriving December 27th, 1932 in Sanborn, Iowa to Evertt & Helena Van’t Slot. The family moved to Holland, Michigan. Ann was a proud alumnus of Holland Christian High School and Calvin College where she received her teaching degree. Her first job was as a second-grade teacher at Fremont Christian School. There she met and married Willis and they raised their family of six: Jan, Barb, Karen, Bill, Sharon and Kathy. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Evertt and Helena; husband Willis; daughter Jan Ensing; brother Andy Van’t Slot; and sister Jeanette Lyzenga. She is survived by her children: Barb (Harry) Veenstra, Karen (Gary) Sheppard, Bill (Karla) Karnemaat, Sharon (John) VanDoorne, Kathy (Marc) Wiegers; son-in-law Larry Ensing; as well as ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; older sister, Tillie Witt; and her twin brother, Peter Van't Slot. There will be a visitation at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 30th, at First Fremont CRC church with Memorial Service at 11:00. Donations to Resthaven Care Center in Ann’s honor are welcome.
