Anthony “Tony” Wayne Johnson, age 81 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, April 18, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1942 in Fremont, Michigan. Tony was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Fremont. He had worked at Howmet in Whitehall for 12 years, and at Kaydon Corporation in Muskegon for 20 years. Tony had also owned and operated House of Flavors in Hesperia, and Kay’s Kars in Fremont. He enjoyed golfing, cars, and riding his motorcycle. Tony is survived by his wife, Kay Johnson, who he married on August 15, 1987; children: Mark Johnson, Brian (Shannon) Johnson, Toni Renae (Tom) Nolff, Shawn VanderMolen, Tanya (Matthew) Kolkema, Katie (Jeff) Morton; 18 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Zike & Cheryl (Dennis) Wawsczyk; and by several nieces & nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Leonard & Alma (Somers) Johnson, and by his sister Connie Jahr. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 26, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Fremont, and a luncheon will immediately follow the service at church. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 11-12 Noon on Friday.
