Barbara Louise (Vander Zanden) Emmory

Barbara Louise Emmory , age 85 of Fremont, passed away on Monday March 17, 2025 at Corewell Health Gerber Hospital after a sudden cardiac event.

Born January 31, 1940 to Henry and Shirley (Herrygers) Vander Zanden. Barb was the 3rd child of 11, having 5 brothers and 5 sisters.  In 1960 Barb married her high school sweetheart , Arnold Emmory, who survives her.

Caring for her family, gardening and quilting were her passion. She was a beloved daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Arnold Emmory.  Daughter Terese Ann LaPree and Tim LaPree. Son Bruce Emmory and Patty Emmory. Grandchildren Jessica Newfer, Martin Newfer and Tracey & Chris Brooks, Amanda Emmory and Adam Landeryou, Andrea Emmory and Alex Gomez-Colderon.  Great-Grandchildren Emily Massey, Audrey Newfer, Oliver Brooks , Braxton Brooks, Lorelei Brooks and Easton Landeryou.  Siblings Stella Weston, Sue Vander Zanden, Jack and Carol Vander Zanden, Jim and Kelly Vander Zanden, Jeanne and Fred Grice, Theresa and Gary Westcott, Rita and Mark Mortenson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Shirley Vander Zanden, brothers Carl Vander Zanden, Henry Vander Zanden, Bill Vander Zanden, brother-in -law Doug Weston and sister Annie Jacobson.
