Barbara Jean (Deuling) Salisbury

Barbara Jean Salisbury, age 86 of Newaygo, passed away on Sunday morning, November 12, 2023 at the Brook of Newaygo.  She was born on May 23, 1937 in Fremont, Michigan to Fred H. & Lucille (Kaiser) Deuling.  Barb had been a realtor at Century 21 Hulst Realty in Newaygo for 20 years until her retirement in 1997, and she had been involved in the Fremont Schools Foster Grandparents Program.  Barb had been a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont, and St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo.  On August 30, 1958 she married Patrick Allen Salisbury and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1976.  Barb was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lauri Smith; brothers:  Donald & his wife Arlene, & Allen Deuling; and by her brothers-in-law:  Ben Bennett, Dean Salisbury, & Jim Salisbury.  She is survived by 3 children:  Cindy (Mark) Smith of Wallace, Kansas, Sheri (Dan) Scott of Hudsonville, Steve Salisbury of Hesperia; son-in-law, Ray Smith of Sharon Springs, Kansas; 8 grandchildren:  Angela Smith, Valarie Smith, Preston Smith, Alicia (David) Allen, Lindy (Austin) Kumbera, Nick Smith, Kyle Scott, Chad (Brittany) Scott; 2 great-grandchildren, Lila Scott & Abigail Allen; sisters:  Shirley Bennett, Marlene Gilliland, Marjorie (Donald) Redder, Frances (Gary) Derks, Kay (Bill) Boike; sisters-in-law:  Ruth Deuling, Lynne (Jerry) Biernacki, Elaine Salisbury; and by many nieces & nephews.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.  Interment will be at St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery in Newaygo.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday.  Suggested Memorials:  All Saints Catholic Church, or St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
