Bernard ”Bernie” Lawrence McLean, age 88 of Fremont, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 29, 2021. He was born on June 5, 1932 in the green house at home in Bridgeton Township, Michigan to John and Gladys (Hill) McLean. Bernie was retired from Keeler Brass in Grand Rapids, and in his later years he enjoyed planting his garden every spring. He was a member of Bridgeton Baptist Church, and he loved fast cars of which many had the pleasure of riding in with him. Bernie was preceded in death by his son, Bernard “Bernie” Allen McLean in 2004; by 2 grandsons, Brandon Michael McLean & Ryan Kyle McLean; by his brothers, John, Henry, & Leroy McLean; and by his sisters: Antoinette Storms, Donna Ingersoll, & Gladys King. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosilene “Rose” (Thompson) McLean; 3 children: Robert “Rob” McLean, Rodney (Jacquline “Jackie”) McLean, Melanie (Brian) Verheij; daughter-in-law, Pamela (David) Wakefield; 14 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Bridgeton Baptist Church with Pastor Duane Young officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Friday. Interment will be in Bridgeton Township Cemetery immediately after the service, followed by a luncheon & time of fellowship back at the church.
