Bethany "Beth" Ruth (Hutchens) Main

Bethany “Beth” Ruth (Hutchens) Main, age 47 of Fremont, passed away peacefully and entered the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026, at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. She was born on September 4, 1978, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Jon & Kimberley (Benjamin) Hutchens.

Beth is remembered by her family as a fun loving, kindhearted daughter, sister, mother, and beloved grandmother. She was always up for anything, and a willing companion for any adventure. She loved spending time in God’s creation with her family, especially near the water or casting a fishing line. She also enjoyed expressing her creativity as a talented cake decorator and was like a second mom to many neighborhood children, always making sure no one ever went hungry.

She inspired her entire family with her strength and determination through every challenge life brought her, including her recent battle with cancer. She was truly “tough as nails,” and her family hopes to carry that same strength and resilience forward in their own lives.

She is survived by her children: Andrew (Zoe Osterman) Cole and her grandson, Oliver Cole; Samuel (Elizabeth Cobb) Cole, Julia (Logan) Stroven, Abigail Thompson; her father, Jon Hutchens; her sister, Cassandra (Love) Hutchens Saquing and nephews and nieces, Ethan, Emma, Elizabeth, and Ezra; her brother, John (Karen) Hutchens; and her loving cat, Charlie. Beth joins her mother, Kimberley Hutchens, in heaven.

Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at First Reformed Church of Fremont, MI, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. A private interment with immediate family will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Newaygo County Compassion Home.
