Betsy Jo (Colbert) Tinkham

Betsy Jo Tinkham, age 72 of Hesperia, passed away on Thursday morning, April 6, 2023 at her home.  She was born on October 12, 1950 in Fremont, Michigan to Fred & Emolue (Morton) Colbert.  Betsy had been employed at Hesperia High School for 24 years, where she filled many roles until her retirement on June 30, 2007.   She loved spending time with her family, and she also loved to cook & quilt.  On January 7, 1970 she married Emery Joe Tinkham and he survives her along with 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, & 6 great-grandchildren:  Marcy (Brad) Stitt of Hesperia & their children & grandchildren, Michaela (Sheldon) Cregg & children Braxton, Blaikley, Brynley, & Brezlyn, Mariah (Collin) Zeerip & children Eleanor & Bea, Kurtis Stitt, Jamie (Mark) Kukal of Fremont & their sons Cooper & Austin Kukal.  Betsy is also survived by her sisters & brothers:  Cindy (Dan) Sovinski, Sandy Maynard, Tony (Tamie) Colbert, Julie (Richard) Lattin, Bruce Tinkham; 3 step-brothers:  Mike (Char) Tinkham, Tom (Sue) Tinkham, Mark (Kelly) Tinkham; and by many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by 2 children, Edith Elaine & Lonnie Joe Tinkham; parents, Fred & Emolue Colbert & step-father Harry Tinkham; brother, Greg Colbert; sister, Lynda Splitstone; and brother-in-law, Greg Maynard.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Inspire Church in Fremont with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Tuesday.  Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.  Suggested Memorials:  Harbor Hospice, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or CancerCare.org.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
