Betty Jane Todd, age 89 of White Cloud, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, July 13, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on January 30, 1937 in Tecumseh, Michigan and was raised by Ernest and Ethel (Longwell) Greene.
Betty was a Registered Nurse and had been employed by Hackley Hospital, Muskegon General Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Gerber Hospital, and then by Urologist Dr. Stone in Muskegon.
She was very creative, dabbling in painting, floral arrangements, knitting and crocheting that led to her starting her a very successful business known as Mohair in Motion; creating shawls, sweaters and custom dyed fiber orders for customers.
She was an excellent cook and was well known for creating meals and canning for her family.
She was a member of Northern Angora Goat Co-Op and enjoyed shearing goats and served as a judge and later as president. Betty had also been a Girl Scout Leader and farmer. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and dancing.
Betty was a member of Aetna Calvary Church, Fremont Moose Lodge #1555, and White Cloud Eagles #4170.
On December 1, 1973 she married Ronald Todd enjoying over 50 years together and whether in good times or bad, their love of music and dancing kept their feet on the ground and in each other’s arms. Ron preceded her in death on March 12, 2026.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ethel Greene; sons-in-law, Steve Schroeder and Wayne Stout; and by Ron’s daughter, Lori Schafer.
Betty is survived by daughters: Dawn (Mike) Coon, Liz Stout (Wayne), Tracy (Pete) Jordan, Linda Eastling, Tina (Jeff) Roelofs; son Daniel (Nancy) Todd, son-in-law, Tim Schafer; 37 grandchildren and 47 great and great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Aetna Calvary Church with Pastor Justin Blackwood officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00am to 11:00am with the memorial service beginning at 11:00am. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow. Interment will be at a later date at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights, Michigan.
The family is most grateful for the staff at Community Harmony Hospice in Newaygo for their care and support during this difficult time.
