Beverly J. Deur

Beverly Deur, lovingly known as "Great Grandma Sweetheart," was called to her heavenly home on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the age of 86 years. Beverly was born to the late Gerrit and Jennie Nieboer, in Platte, South Dakota, on February 17, 1932. Beverly was an alumnus of Calvin College and a long-time member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, Michigan. She died comfortably amongst family and wonderful caretakers at Green Acres of Fremont, where she blessed, and was blessed by, many.

The Lord graced Beverly with a large and loving family, who lightened up her life, providing her with great joy and pride, and she is dearly missed by her husband of 66 beautiful years, Louis; her children, Garth (Mary), Jonell (Ross) Pettinga, Eric (Wendy), and Christopher (Gabriel); and her brother- and sister-in-laws, Gene and Shirley Los, and Gise and Carolyn Van Baren, who celebrate the blessed assurance that she is at peace with her Creator. Beverly also set a sweet and devout Christian example, which will be remembered by her nine grandchildren – Matt, Brandon, Luke, Erica, Drew, Tyler, Dean, Ethan and Ellie – their spouses, and her nine great grandchildren, who carry with them her servant heart. Beverly was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Verschure, and brothers, Bern and Herm Nieboer.

Visitation will be held at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, 637 E Main Street, Fremont, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from 6-8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Second Christian Reformed Church, 600 Apache Drive, Fremont. A funeral service in memory of Beverly will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Second Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Douglas MacLeod officiating. A family-only interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Beverly to the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation, P.O Box B, Fremont, Michigan 49412.

She was as precious in His sight as she was in ours. May the Lord bless her heart, as she has blessed us.
