Brenda Sue Messier, age 66 & formerly of Fremont, was welcomed into her Savior's arms on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 and is in her forever Home. She was born on August 19, 1957 in Fremont, Michigan to Benard “Ben” Henry & Evelyn Lucille (Frens) Deuling. Brenda had worked in food service for the Dinner Bell in Fremont, the Sweden House in Grand Rapids, & at Forest View Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was a former member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. Brenda enjoyed cooking & baking cookies, reading, and she loved stuffed animals. On September 28, 1991 she married Stephen A. Messier and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben & Evelyn Deuling; sister, Beverly Ann Deuling; sister-in-law, Jaime Deuling; and by her great-nephew, Tyler Rogers. Brenda is survived by her sisters & brother: Linda Burcham of Lansing, MI., Gary (Judy) Deuling of Arizona, Karen (Randy) O’Neal of Newaygo; & by many nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her aunt, Joyce Frens of Fremont; and by her special relative, Betty Harmsen of Fremont. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, with her cousin Pastor Todd Deuling officiating. Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the funeral home from 11-12 Noon on Monday. Suggested Memorial: The Newaygo County Compassion Home.
