Carl “Chuck” Ewald Fischer, age 70 of Twin Lake, Michigan, passed away into the arms of his parents and of Jesus his Savior on Saturday morning, October 23, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1951 in Lansing, Michigan to Ewald “Jim” and Edna (Hudson) Fischer.
Carl graduated from Owosso High School in Owosso, Michigan in 1970. He operated heavy equipment for the city of Owosso and for the County of Beckham, Oklahoma. His last place of employment was the Township of Holton from which he retired. He was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. Carl enjoyed family times, camping, nature, Hawaiian shirts, and time spent with his dogs (Conrad and Willa).
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and by his niece Jennifer Fischer. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Paula (Reno) Fischer; his first wife La Donna Nickles the mother of his children, who are Erin Smith, Curt Fischer, Teresa (Patrick) McKee, Matthew Fischer; grandchildren: Sabrina and Jasmin; brother, Eugene (Dianna) Fischer; cousins, Eugene (Lena) McAdams; his mother-in-law, Pat Reno; sister-in-law, Lynda (Rick) Werkema; and his many friends including Jeanne Hippler.
A Celebration of Carl’s Life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Holton United Methodist Church, 9530 Holton Duck Lake Road, Holton, Michigan 49425, with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating. The service will also be livestreamed on the church website. Please feel free to wear a Hawaiian shirt. A visitation luncheon with the family will be after the service in the church’s fellowship hall. Carl’s wishes were for memorial donations to be made to Holton United Methodist Church. Carl’s final earthly journey will be to his favorite places, “God’s Country”, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
