Carol Louise (Sabin) Bultman, 90, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024. Carol was born in Fremont on April 26, 1934 to the late Margaret and Ralph Sabin. She had one sibling, Marva (John) Williams who preceded her in death.
On March 22, 1955 during a raging spring snowstorm she married the love of her life, Robert L. Bultman, who also preceded her in death.
For much of her adult life she worked as a secretary at Gerber Products in Fremont while raising six children: Tom (Judy) Bultman, Jane (Mark) Fox, Mary (Perse) Dervan, Sue (Brian) Crisp, Steve (Brooke) Bultman and Bruce (Kristen) Bultman. She is survived by her children, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
While short in stature, few could match her seemingly boundless energy and initiative, or as she put it, gumption. Even with dementia in her last years, she kept the care givers on their toes. She enjoyed nine winters spent RVing in Arizona where she helped organize and lead weekly desert hikes by park residents. She also enjoyed fishing while spending summers at the Fremont Lake Park. She loved having children and their families spend time with her while cooking and baking for them all. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, where she sang in the choir for many years, until illness dictated she move to be nearer to children. She will be remembered for her friendly smile and love of life and family.
There will be a yet to be planned celebration of life gathering this coming summer in Fremont. Donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
