Charles “Chuck” Albert Scarbrough, age 66 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on August 17, 1955 in Cadillac, Michigan to Alice Scarbrough. Chuck had been employed by West Michigan Cable, and Bolthouse Carrot Farm in Grant. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and watching western movies. On May 5, 1981 he married Rita Diekema and she survives him along with 5 children: Stephanie Scarbrough of Alabama, Karen (George) Jordan of White Cloud, Lisa (David Dutton) Scarbrough of Hart, Tara (Jacob Barton) Scarbrough of Hesperia, Ashley (Eddie Hall) Hendrick of Hesperia; 10 grandchildren: Mileena, Hailey, Brooklynne, Zachary, Monica, Mackenzie, George, Alexander, Katilyn, & Colton; 5 great grandchildren: Lucas, Julian, Lanessa, Carson, & Bentley; his mother, Alice Hough of Muskegon; several brothers & sisters; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; and by many nieces & nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his step-father, Jerry Hough; by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Cornelius & Henrietta Diekema; and by his brother-in-law, Gerald Diekema. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Tara Scarbrough & Jacob Barton’s residence, 6396 N. Stone Road, Hesperia, MI. 49421, beginning with a brief time of sharing at 1:00 PM followed by a small luncheon and time to visit with the family until 6:00 PM.
