Charley Roger Dore of Holton, born June 23, 1934 at home and passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021. He grew up on their family farm and married Gayle M. Mater on June 26, 1954, who survives him. They were blessed with over 67 years together. He was a man of strong faith who taught his family the importance of faith and family. Charley served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War time from 1952 - 1955. He worked for Gerber Products, DuPont, the City of Fremont and then Sappi Paper until his retirement in 1994. God gave them two sons, Roger (Amy) and Dan (Amy) and instilled a strong work ethic in his boys. He adored his six grandchildren, Kelsey, Ashley (Jon), Cameron, Justyn, Colin and Amanda.
Along with his loving wife, children and grandchildren, he is survived by his sister-in-law Dolores (Glen) Klomp, brother-in-law Doyle Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roch and Georgia Dore, brother Peter & his wife Nancy Dore, sisters Elaine Dore, Marcia Dore, Theresa and her husbands O.L. Herring & Julius Rottman and Mary & her husband Vern Follett.
Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2021 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, from 6:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick with Father Peter Schafer as Celebrant. Visitation will also be at church before Mass from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday. Interment will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, please consider St. Michael Catholic Church as a lasting memorial.
