“Cooter” Melvin Goss, age 65 of Grant, passed away on December 6, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 25, 1957 in Fremont, Michigan to Francis & Faith (Dawson) Goss. Cooter was retired from Wolverine Worldwide in Rockford, and he enjoyed tinkering in the garage. He also loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and he had been the Newaygo County coordinator for ABATE Region 5 motorcycle safety and awareness club. Cooter was a lifetime member of the Newaygo VFW Post #4249, and he was a member of the Fruitport Eagles #3666. He was also a member of Tatra Hall, the Lithuanian Club, Polish Union, and the Polish Falcons all in Muskegon. He is survived by his daughter, Harlli Goss; longtime significant other, Debra DuRose; sister, Jenny (George) Griffin; and by many nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & great-nephews. Cooter was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister Ruby Essex. There will be a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Tatra Hall in Muskegon, followed by a luncheon and time to visit with the family until 5 PM.
