Craig Lyle Myers of Fremont, Michigan passed away on March 9th, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by the love of his family. Craig was born on August 10th 1957, in Fremont, the place he proudly called home throughout his life.
Craig proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After completing his service, he attended Tri-State University, continuing to build the knowledge and skills that would become part of who he was throughout his life.
He was incredibly smart, talented, hardworking, and generous with his time and knowledge. He loved boating and fishing, music, playing guitar, working on cars, and fixing things with his hands. Above all, the role Craig cherished most was being a husband, father, and grandfather. He was protective, supportive, and endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Cyndee; his daughters Cassandra (Ben) Johnson and Samantha (Jeff) Sheppard; and his beloved grandchildren Ruby and Vera Johnson, and Simone and Abram Sheppard. He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle "Buck" Myers and Helen J. Myers.
Craig faced a long and difficult battle with cancer. Through it all, he demonstrated remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. Even during his hardest days, his focus remained on the people he loved most.
Craig leaves behind a legacy of strength, knowledge, humor, and unwavering love for his family. To those who knew him best, he will always be remembered as the person who could solve any problem, fix anything that was broken, and show up whenever someone he loved needed him. Though he is no longer here to fix what's broken, the love and strength he gave his family will continue to guide them for the rest of their lives.
His absence will be deeply felt, but the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the memories he created will remain with his family forever.
The celebration of Craig's life will be held on April 18th, 2026 at the Stone Lodge in Fremont, Michigan from 1:00 PM-3:30 PM, with military honors at 2:30 PM. A light luncheon will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any memorial contributions be made directly to the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont, Michigan.
