Dale R. Tibbe

Dale R. Tibbe, age 77 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 5, 2025 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont after a 2 year diagnosis of liver & colon cancer. 

He was born on June 15, 1947 in Fremont, Michigan to Gerrit & Martha (Luchies) Tibbe.  On September 1, 1967 he married Emma Nieman and she preceded him in death on February 8, 2019.  Dale started out working for Hesperia Lumber Company and Fremont Lumber Company, and then started farming and was a cabinet maker on the side.  He enjoyed fixing things, going to toy tractor shows & collecting Oliver memorabilia, and vegetable gardening.  He truly enjoyed and loved his grandchildren, a.k.a “the kids”, which included his “Fremont grandchildren”.  Dale was a member of Bethel Reformed OPC in Fremont.

Dale is survived by his son, Greg (Tara)Tibbe of Waupun, WI.; his daughter, Cyndee Tibbe Luell St Paul, MN.; grandchildren:  Nathan, Elyse, Joshua, Ava and Abigail Tibbe, and Trexler Luell; sister, Barb (Stan) Stroven of Fremont; brother, Jim (Sue) Tibbe of Fremont; brothers-in-law:  Jim DuRose of Muskegon, John (Terri) Nieman of Clover, SC., Mike (Dyan) Nieman of Charlotte, NC.; sister-in-law, Trya (Dennis) Darling of LaRiviere, Manitoba Canada; many nieces & nephews; and by the best Oliver buddy a person could have, Isaiah Guikema.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit & Martha Tibbe; grandchildren, Trientje Luell & Birkten Luell; and by his siblings & their spouses:  Art & Arlene Tibbe, Maxine Tibbe, Helene & Joe Buitendorp, Joyce DuRose, Geraldine & Fritz Deuling.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at First Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Vern Picknally officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 1-2 PM on Saturday.  Interment will be in the Spring at Reeman Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Bethel Reformed OPC or to the Newaygo County Compassion Home.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
