David "Wally" Bruce Packard, age 68 of Holton, passed away on Thursday evening, March 21, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1956 in Fremont, Michigan to Elmer & Betty (Roberts) Packard. Wally was a lifetime member of Cornerstone Free Methodist Church in Holton, where he ran the sound system for many years. He had been a custodian for several Kmart stores, and for Holton Public Schools. Wally had also been a recreational baseball umpire. He enjoyed old cameras, computers, sports, camping & fishing, and spending time with family. On May 27, 1989 he married Phyllis Macy and she survives him along with 2 brothers: Dan (Pam) Packard of Twin Lake, Steve (Cheri) Packard of Fremont; mother-in-law, Carolyn Olson of Texas; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; and by many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Betty Packard. A celebration of Wally's life will be held at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church in Holton on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor David Gruber officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church just prior to the service, from 11:00-12:00 Noon on Saturday.
