Dennis D. Dawe

Mr. Dennis D. Dawe, age 85 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Wednesday afternoon, October 30, 2019.  He was born on September 26, 1934 in Fremont, Michigan to Charles Henry & Mary Edna (Mateer) Dawe.  Denny was a US Air Force Veteran, and he had been employed by K-Mart in Grand Rapids for 30 years until his retirement in 1996.  He was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church, where he had been the custodian for many years.  Denny loved trains and model trains.  On June 14, 1958 he married Patsy L. Hawes and she preceded him in death on December 27, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers:  Bernard, Clyde, & Thomas Dawe; and by his sisters:  Lucille Brand, Esther Dawe, Doris Rottman, & Dixie Mayo.  He is survived by 3 children:  Rhonda (Wayne) Gething of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Vickie Dawe of Grand Rapids, MI., Douglas (Akiko) Dawe of Milford, MI.; 3 grandchildren:  Charles, Timothy, & Alicia Dawe; 1 sister, Ruthelma Smith of Alpena, MI.; and by many nieces & nephews.  Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Fremont United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Fairchild officiating.  There will be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 12-1 PM on Tuesday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  Fremont United Methodist Church, or Harbor Hospice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
