Dennis Lee Walker

Dennis Lee Walker, age 73 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday morning, November 15, 2024 surrounded by his family.  He was born on May 29, 1951 in Muskegon, Michigan to James & Pearl (Smith) Walker.  Denny was an US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and he was a member of the Fremont Laurel’s VFW Post #6898. He had been employed at Hayes Lemmerze in Montague for 25 years until his retirement in 2007.  Denny enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, back road driving, and spending time with his family.  On March 17, 1972 he married Diane Nelson and she survives him along with 4 children:  Dennis (Doug) Walker, Jr., Tammy (Eric) Ogren, Chad (Stephanie) Walker, Jeremy Walker; 11 grandchildren:  Mac Thomas, Jessi (Jay) Manfreda, Joey (Katelyn) Thomas, Jaxon Walker, Alex Walker, Lexis Walker, Mya Walker, Eleese Walker, Garrett (Autumn) Ogren, Julia Rose, & Seth Reene; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters:  Frank (Nancy) Walker, Robert Walker, Helen (Joe) Cipolla, Carol Jarvis, David (Judith) Walker, Steve Walker, Richard (Devvy) Walker; sister-in-law, Sinh Walker; many nieces & nephews; and by his best friends, Joe & Donna Kukal.  Denny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers:  Jim Walker, Gerry Walker, Norm Walker, Chuck Walker, Mark Walker; sisters-in-law:  Kathy Walker, Shelby Walker, Theresa Nelson, Mickie Walker; and by his brothers-in-law, Doug Jarvis & Orson Griffes.  The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Fremont United Methodist Church with Pastor Rap Posnik officiating.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church.  Visitation will also be at the church from 2-3 PM on Saturday.  A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Jewell Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  The Fremont Laurel’s VFW Post #6898.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
