Diana "Dode" Marie (Schornagel) Wiles

Diana "Dode" Marie Wiles, age 67 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at her home, in her sleep, after a long battle with cancer on Friday morning, January 6, 2023.  She was born on January 11, 1955 in Shelby Michigan to Jacob Richard & Sharon Catherine (Harig) Schornagel.  Diana had been employed as a phlebotomist, at Gerber Memorial Hospital, in Specialty Services.  She had a gift for capturing her love of nature, of all kinds, through her photography. She loved gardening, fishing, cooking and baking for others. Diana was a caregiver who had a love for people, as well as spending time with her children & grandchildren and many others. On June 25, 1988 she married Doyle “Dude” Wayne Wiles and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2017.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jacob & Sharon Schornagel; grandson, Aaron Dault; father-in-law, Carl Wiles; and brothers-in-law, Daniel Bradshaw & Darrell Wiles.  Diana is survived by 8 children:  Erica (Kirt Anderson) Purcell, Erin (James) Carter, Kara (Dean) Dault, Tricia (Dwight) Perkin, Kimberly (Josh Doerfler) Boelens, Lindsey Wiles, Tyler Wiles, & Jenna Wiles; 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; sisters:  Teresa Bradshaw, Cindy Schornagel Bock, Kim (Doug) Noirot, Stacey Butler; brother, Jake Schornagel; mother-in-law, Ann Wiles; brother-in-law, Marlin (Pat) Wiles; sisters-in-law:  Jean (Bob) Balahoski, Rita (Jerry) Callen, Deanna (Norm) Burns, Janet Wiles; and by many nieces & nephews.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held on her first heavenly birthday, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home.  There will be a time of visiting with the family from 1-2 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Suggested Memorial:  St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
