Donald Lee Bisel, Sr.

Donald Lee Bisel, Sr., age 82 of Croton Dam, Newaygo County, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 27, 2025 at his home.  He was born on April 25, 1943 in Vermontville, Michigan to Richard & Mary (Grant) Bisel, and moved to Croton Dam, Newaygo County as a child.  Don was an electrician, and he owned & operated Bisel Electric along with his son Dan until his retirement.  After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing.  Don also liked the woods, outdoor life, hunting, and spending time at his home and with his family.  On June 2, 1961 he married Vicky L. Ellerthorpe, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2018.  Don was also preceded in death by his parents Richard & Mary Bisel, and by his brother Ned Bisel.  He is survived by 2 sons:  Donald L. (Virginia Jean) Bisel, Jr., and Daniel M. (Amy June) Bisel; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and by his brother, Grant (Sharon) Bisel.  According to Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.  Suggested Memorial:  Heartland Hospice – Newaygo County.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
