Donna (Van Wylen) Folkema

Donna Folkema, age 90 of Fremont, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, February 18, 2023.  She was born on March 24, 1932 in Grant, Michigan to Joe & Bertha (De Vries) Van Wylen.  Donna had worked at Lang’s Pickle Factory in Fremont, she had cleaned houses, and she retired from Roossinck Fruit Storage.  She was also a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont.  Donna enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross stitching, & doing puzzles.  On October 24, 1956 she married Marvin Jay Folkema, and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2022.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Roger Folkema, on November 29, 2020; brothers and their spouses:  Govert Van Wylen, Cornelius (Neil) & Helen Van Wylen, Herbert (Herb) & Donna Van Wylen; and by her sister, Katie Van Wylen.  Donna is survived by 2 children:  Morris (Lois) Folkema, Ruth (Ben) Huff, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Mary Folkema; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Dave Brower officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  The Fremont Area Community Foundation for either the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund, or for the Second Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
