On September 1st, 2022 Donna Rae Stroven ended her earthly battles with neurological ailments and entered her heavenly joy and peace.
Donna was born on April 4th of 1949 to Carl and Hermena (Kraley) Foster. She was the youngest of three siblings. She spent her entire life in the Fremont and Newaygo area. After graduating from Fremont High School she married Nicholas Brookhouse who has preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Chad Brookhouse; and brother, Dick Foster. Donna was employed in insurance and banking, and at MESC and the Newaygo County Circuit Court Clerks Office. In 2002 she married Harry Stroven and took over the office responsibilities of Stroven Farms until her illness would no longer allow her. She also donated her time as president of the Fremont Garden Club and various ministries at Resonate Church of Newaygo. She also loved working with flowers and yard work, knitting, weaving, photography, bowling, and snow skiing.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Stroven; son, Jason (Kristin) Brookhouse; daughter, Amber (Justin) Trudell; brother, Paul (Barb) Foster; sister-in-law, Pat Foster; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Richard Marconi; and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Brookhouse. Her grandchildren are Taylor, Logan and Beau Brookhouse, Silas Trudell, and Hannah, Nora, and Dawson Hoekert. Great grandchildren are Raeleigh and Bentleigh Brookhouse Auw.
Services will be held at Resonate Church located at 302 East 68th Street of Newaygo on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation one hour before. A luncheon will be held immediately afterwards. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
