Eleanor Pearl Hooker, age 85 of Fremont, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan and was raised by her foster parents George & Willa Kalsbeek. Eleanor was a member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church. She made and donated over 10,000 stocking caps, besides the many that she made for other people. On February 17, 1961 she married Dale Hooker and he survives her along with 3 children: Jeff (Violet) Hooker of Fremont, Julie (Mike) Menke of Medina, Ohio, Mike Hooker of Fremont; 5 grandchildren: Allen (Hannah) Hooker, Elly Dale Hooker, Lauren (Ryan) Manton, Alex (Camille) Menke, Ashtyn (Harry) Braafhart; 1 great-grandson, Aspen Hooker. Eleanor is also survived by 2 sisters: Carol Johnson, Barb (Bob) Michmerheizen; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Lou & Verla Hooker, Corrine & Duane Burt, Barb & Stan Witte, Lloyd & Sally Hoekert, Arlene Hooker; and by many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Spira; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law: Virginia & Carl Sneller, Marve & Gerry Hooker, Harley Hooker, Les & Sylvia Hooker. According to Eleanor’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke and Pastor Nate Kooistra officiating. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NagQs7xkd9s. Interment will be at a later date in Reeman Cemetery. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 6-8 PM on Friday, and from 10-11 AM on Saturday. Suggested Memorial: Reeman Christian Reformed Church Building Fund.
