Elmer "Al" Baker Obituary

On November 18, 2020 Elmer “Al” Baker went Home to be with his Lord & Savior.  He was born in Muskegon, MI. on September 21, 1936 to Elmer & Katherine (Slagter) Baker.  On June 8, 1956 he married Grace Kramer and she preceded him in death in 2018.  They spent 62 wonderful years together, 50 of them at Fremont Lake Campground, their 2nd home that they loved so much and managed for 24 years, making many lifelong friendships.  Al was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and he had been employed for many years at CWC in Muskegon.  He was a jack of all trades & was always willing to help with a project.  Al was a wonderful woodworker, making many beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends.  He also made flag cases & urns for Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home for over 20 years.  Al will be lovingly remembered and missed by his daughter, Vicki (Brad) Gilliland of Fremont; granddaughter:  Christina (Jeff) Uildriks & great grandchildren Emma & Addison McNitt, Lou, Charlie, & Vinny Uildriks; grandsons:  John (Ashley) Baker, Jr. & great grandchildren Marcus, Bryson, Brayley & Easton Baker; Josh Baker & great grandchildren Jericho & Justice Baker; Jared Baker & great granddaughter Miya Grace Baker; sister, Margie (Bill) Sangster; sister-in-law, Linda Baker; and by many nieces & nephews.  Besides his wife Grace, Al was also preceded in death by his parents; by his son, John R. Baker; by his brother & his wife Claude & Joan Baker; and by his brothers, Henry & Ray Baker.  A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont with Pastor Doug MacLeod officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Second Christian Reformed Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
