Elsie Dorothea (Schmitt) Vermilyea

Elsie Dorothea Vermilyea, age 89 of Fremont, Michigan and formerly of Bridgman, Michigan and New Jersey, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, November 5, 2025.  She was born on February 14, 1936 in Irvington, New Jersey to Henry William & Elsie (Humm) Schmitt.  Elsie had been an active member for many years of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.  She was preceded in death by her husband James Vermilyea, and by her daughter & her husband Debbie & Mitch Bobyack.  Elsie is survived by 1 daughter, Karen (Rev James) Schouweiler of Fremont, Michigan; 4 grandchildren & 1 great-granddaughter:  David (Marian) Schouweiler & their daughter Eliza Schouweiler, Robert Schouweiler, Amanda Bobyack, & Christina Bobyack.  A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery in Bridgman, Michigan with her son-in-law, Rev.
