Emerson Eugene Eckert

Mr. Emerson Eugene Eckert, age 91 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Thursday evening, July 22, 2021.  He was born on December 26, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to John Emerson & Alice L. (Bunce) Eckert.  Emerson was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He had been a truck driver for many years until his retirement, when he then opened Eckert’s Produce where he did all of the gardening.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont.  On November 5, 1957 he married Rose L. Coleman and she survives him along with 6 children:  Sharon (Bud) Hattaway, Daniel (Lois) Eckert, Alice (Harry) Holcomb, David (Faye) Eckert, John (Kathy) Eckert, JoAnna (Mike) Brodgon; 28 grandchildren & 30 great grandchildren.  Emerson was preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother.  A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Fremont with Dr. Steve Witter officiating.  A time of visiting with the family will immediately follow the service at church along with light refreshments.  Interment will be in Garfield Township Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Gideons International.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
