Eva Irene (Bunce) Bush Stevens

Eva Irene Bush Stevens, age 85 of Fremont & formerly of Lake Ann, went to be with her Lord and Savior from her home in Hesperia on Tuesday evening, July 28, 2026.  She was born on September 13, 1940 in Fremont, Michigan to George & Elna (Hendrickson) Bunce.

Eva faithfully served the Lord during her 36 years of working in food service at Lake Ann Camp from 1974-2000.  She was known for her hospitality, and her kind loving soul took a great interest in people.  Eva enjoyed entertaining, and she fervently prayed for everyone.  She was well known for her baking & cooking, especially for her cinnamon rolls & dinner rolls, and she had owned & operated J & E Catering Company along with her husband John.  Eva had been a former member of First Baptist Church in Fremont, Immanuel Baptist Church in Traverse City, Bible Baptist Church in Traverse City, and she was currently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband’s John Bush and Lyman Baird, and she is survived by her husband Jerry Stevens; 4 children:  Duane (April) Bush of Veedersburg, Indiana, Jane (Dan) Corey of Hesperia, Michigan, Diane (Mark) Shaw of Greenville, Michigan, Mike (Suzanne) Bush of Fremont, Michigan; 19 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren; and by multiple step-children, step-grandchildren, & step-great grandchildren.  Eva is also survived by her brother Frank (Shirley) Bunce, sister Eldora Gibbie, brother Tom (Diane) Bunce; brother-in-law, Stan Griswold; and by numerous nieces & nephews.  Eva was also preceded in death by her brothers:  George Bunce, Carl Bunce, & James Bunce; and by her sister Rose Griswold.

Visitation will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Fremont from 10-11 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastors Bryan Tanis, Mark Shaw, & Tim Shaw officiating.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church, and interment will be at Reeman Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Saturday.  Suggested Memorials:  Faith Baptist Church, Lake Ann Camp, or Cystic Fibrosis.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
