Evelyn M. (Teusink) Derks

Mrs. Evelyn M. Derks, age 95 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday evening, November 18, 2020.  She was born on October 17, 1925 in Fremont, Michigan to William & Alice (Boeskool) Teusink.  Evelyn had worked on the dairy farm, and she had been employed for many years at the Hi-Lites until her retirement.  She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, where she had been a member of the Royal Daughters, and she enjoyed knitting.  On January 16, 1948 she married Vernon Derks and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Keith Derks; by her sister & her husband, Thelma & Larry Austin; and by her sisters-in-law, Wilma & Dorothy Teusink.  Evelyn is survived by 2 sons:  Randy (Sue) Derks of Fremont, Keith (Peggy) Derks of White Cloud; 2 grandchildren:  Brett (Katie) Derks, Sally Ann (Chris) Thomas; 5 great grandchildren:  Brenden, Riley, & Emersyn Derks, Gavin & Blaine Thomas; 1 brother, Marvin Teusink of Grant; and many other extended family.  A Private Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Sherman Township Cemetery with Randy McDonald officiating.  A video recording of the service will be posted on the funeral home website following the service on Tuesday.  Suggested Memorials:  The Fremont Area Community Foundation for either the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund, or for the First Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
