Fern L. TenBrink, age 95 of Fremont, passed away on Sunday evening, September 25, 2022 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. She was born on October 5, 1926 in Grant, Michigan to Thomas and Ethel (Morrison) Jordan. Fern had been a waitress at various restaurants in Newaygo County, and she had worked at Miller’s Egg Station, Burgess Eggs, and Cook’s Star Hatchery, all in Fremont. She was an active life member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555 Auxiliary, where she was a Senior Regent, Treasurer, and Secretary. She also earned her College of Regents Degree at Moose International. Fern also liked to crochet, camp, and travel, and she enjoyed playing cards and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to play cards. On May 8, 1948 she married Thomas TenBrink, Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 24, 1984. Fern was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Sid Kirk; brothers: David “Buck” Jordan, Ivory Jordan, & Jesse Jordan; and by her sister, Iris Scribner. She is survived by 2 children: Sandy Kirk of Bitely, Thomas (Char) TenBrink, Jr. of Fremont; 3 grandchildren: Tiffany (Bradley) Alexander, Terra (Douglas) Grey, Tommy (Stacie) Kirk; 7 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Dean Jordan of Kent City; 1 sister, Donna Johnson of Grant; and many nieces and nephews. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Moose Service of Tribute will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. A luncheon and time to visit with the family will immediately follow the service until 3:00 PM on Friday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
