Gail D. (McCann) Warnement

Gail D. Warnement, age 71 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, September 8, 2025.  She was born on July 20, 1954 in Columbus, Georgia to George & Harriet (Betten) McCann.  Gail had been a Friend of the Court in Newaygo County for 25 years, and she had been Director of the Newaygo County Conservation District for 15 years until her retirement in 2016.  She was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed shopping, baking, gardening, diet coke, going to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren & dogs.  On January 1, 2000 she married Mark A. Warnement and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2016.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, George & Harriet McCann.  Gail is survived by 1 daughter, Ashley (Jeremy) Luchies of Newaygo; 4 grandchildren:  Joel Luchies, Evan (fiancée Lily Dunning) Luchies, Ella Luchies, & Blayke Luchies; 1 great-granddaughter, Hazel Dunning; and was known as “Grandma Gail” to several others.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Guy (Dawn) McCann of Sebring, Florida, Jon (Aloha) McCann of Grand Rapids; several special nieces & nephews; several cousins; and by her significant other, Gary Kujawski of Grand Haven.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Inspire Church in Fremont with Pastor Matthew Deprez officiating.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Visitation will be at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, and at the church from 12-1 PM on Thursday.  The Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
