Gary D. Schoenmaker, age 66 of Twin Lake, passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 4, 2024 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. He was born on July 29, 1957 in Muskegon, Michigan to George & Clara (Raymond) Schoenmaker. Gary was a US Navy Veteran of The Gulf War. He enjoyed deer hunting with his dad, fishing, and telling stories more than once. Gary was preceded in death by his father, George Schoenmaker; sister, Jan Burrous-Farrell; and by his nephew, Jeremy Schoenmaker. He is survived by his mother, Clara Schoenmaker of Fremont; his long time companion, Sally LaFrance of Twin Lake, and her family; brothers: Tom (Gayle) Schoenmaker of Clarkston, MI., Bruce (Naomi) Schoenmaker of Newaygo, Larry (Sue Mannikko) Schoenmaker of Ironwood, MI.; brother-in-law, Dave Farrell of Kalamazoo; and by many nieces & nephews. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Sherman Township Cemetery with Rev. Gary Kirschke officiating. Suggested Memorial: Muscular Dystrophy Association.
