Gayle Delores (Cornell) Froehle

Gayle Delores Froehle age 87 of Fremont, Michigan passed away Saturday morning on April 13th, 2024. She was born at home on September 23rd, 1936 in Dayton Township of Newaygo County. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents Milan and Leona (Platt) Cornell; her beloved husband Robert Froehle; her brother William Cornell; and her three sisters Yvonne, Fern (Ed) Nelson, and Naoma (Roger) Canull. She is survived by her two sons Gary Timmer and Gregg Timmer; step children Dave Froehle, Mike (Carmen) Froehle, and Mary (Steve) Christoffersen; grandchildren Zenn Timmer, Riley (Chase) Wever, Sabrina (Payton) Schrader, Shaina Timmer, Keagan Timmer, and Taya Timmer; step grandchildren Matt (Kasey) Froehle, Ashley (Joe) Turcsak, Melisa (Stephan) Miller, Jason (Sandi) Christoffersen, and Amanda (Rob) Smith; many great grandchildren and extended loved ones. 

Gayle Froehle graduated from Newaygo High School, Class of 1955. She made a career out of working for the town bank, being a switchboard operator, as well as cleaning houses. Gayle was a gentle soul with a tender heart who went on to raise two boys with her first husband. She later remarried in 1992 to Robert Froehle and settled down in Fremont, Michigan. They were fortunate to have found one another and were happily married for 16 years before Robert’s passing. 

Gayle’s hobbies included being an avid reader, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzles. During the summer months as the grandchildren were growing up, she hosted them at the family cottage every Monday. She enjoyed paddle boating, swimming, and watching the grandchildren play. In the winter months, she flew south to the small town of Ruskin, Florida to enjoy the sunshine and good company of her friends.

Gayle Delores Froehle will be remembered as having the most genuine heart who loved nothing more than being together with her family. She was an exceptional loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor. The care and love she gave to them is something they will cherish forever. Gayle’s grace and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

The funeral service will be held at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont, Michigan on Saturday, April 20th with a visitation from 3pm - 4pm and funeral to start at 4pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that was very dear to Gayle’s heart as she made contributions regularly.
