George Cornelius Barnes

George Cornelius Barnes, age 86 of Bitely, passed away on Friday morning, September 22, 2023.  He was born on March 6, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan to Cornelius & Bernice (Geeting) Barnes.  George had been employed by Dura Automotive for 11 years until his retirement in 1999, and he enjoyed woodworking.  On November 28, 1964 he married Dixie Buck and she survives him along with 3 daughters:  Celeste (Michael) Powers of Ludington, Charisse Kinney of Hesperia, Monique (Bobby) Quillen of Alabama; granddaughter Brittany Strickler along with several other grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Helen Kashenider of Michigan.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Saju George officiating.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 PM.  A private burial will take place at Volney Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Samaritan's Purse.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
