Gerald “Duke” Lee Cripps, age 73 of Twin Lake, passed away on Monday morning, November 15, 2021 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, following a lingering illness. He was born on October 7, 1948 in Fremont, Michigan to Lloyd Charles and Rose (Rupar) Cripps, Sr. Duke graduated from Fremont High School in the Class of 1966, and served in the US Army from 1969-1970, where he received a purple heart for his infantry combat injury during the Vietnam Era. Duke was a member of the Holton American Legion Post #397. He had been employed by CWC Casting in Muskegon for 26 years, until his retirement in 1986. He is survived by his brothers: Charles (Lila) Cripps, and Todd (Joanne) Cripps; sisters: Cheryl Helen (Don) Shaw, and Roxane Townsend; and by many nieces and nephews. Duke was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Shirley Cripps; brother, Lloyd Charles Cripps, Jr.; and infant sister Cheryl Christine Cripps. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and Military Honors will be provided at the Holton American Legion Post #397 on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 12:00 Noon followed by a luncheon and time to visit with the family until 2:30 PM.
