Gerard “Gerry” William, Rich, Sr., age 76 of Fremont, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 21, 2023 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. He was born on June 19, 1946 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gerry proudly retired from USF Holland as an accident free driver with over a million miles, and he was a member of Teamsters Local 406 in Grand Rapids. Gerry loved to fish, enjoyed gardening, bowling in his younger years, and more importantly, loved spending time with his family. On June 29, 1974 he married Janice “Jan” Niece and she survives him along with 3 children & 8 grandchildren: Gerry (Melissa) Rich, Jr. and their children Keagen & Kylie, Adam (Toni) Rich and their children Brooklyn, Adam Lucas, & Paiton; Heather (William) Ciccarelli and their children Austin, Ashlynn, & Makenna. Gerry is also survived by 2 sisters: Vicki Rich and Nancy (Wayne) May; several nieces & nephews; and by his long time friend of over 52 years, Larry Behrens. According to Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a time of visiting with the family from 11-12 Noon on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at The Pavilion at Waters Edge Golf Course in Fremont. A Celebration of his life will begin at 12:00 Noon on Thursday with Pastor Roger Coalter officiating, and a luncheon will immediately follow at The Pavilion.
