Mr. Glenn W. Collaer, age 93, died on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Green Acres of Fremont. He was born July 1, 1928 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Joseph and Hattie (Albers) Collaer. Glenn married Lois Nelson on November 22, 1951 in Green Bay. He worked at Fort Howard Paper in Green Bay, completed an electrotyping apprenticeship, and then worked in Menasha, Wisconsin, Kansas City and at Kable Printing in the Oregon area. During their retirement, the Collaers traveled by RV throughout the U.S. and into Mexico. Glenn enjoyed his family and seven grandchildren as well as hunting and fishing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. GO PACK!
Survivors include his wife Lois and three children: Kristina (Richard) Ruffini of Michigan, Marcia Collaer of Vermont, Jeff (Rebecca) Collaer of Michigan; seven grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Collaer of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Mary Beth Villarreal-Collaer, along with his sisters: Lorayne Tuyls, Jeanne Linnane, Lois LaPlant; and brother, Robert Collaer predeceased him. Glenn was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Oregon, Illinois.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Bartholomew Okagbue as Celebrant. Visitation will also be at church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, where most of Glenn’s Family is interred.
