Jack J. Bauman

Mr. Jack J. Bauman, age 81 of Newaygo & formerly of Manistee, passed away on Friday morning, July 23, 2021 at Fountain View Retirement Village of Grant. He was born on April 7, 1940 in Manistee, Michigan to Harold & Elizabeth (Kujawa) Bauman. Jack was an avid walker, having walked over 43,000 miles in his lifetime. He also enjoyed the game of golf, and was a member at Village Green Golf Course in Newaygo, as well as a former member of the Elks of Manistee. On August 5, 1961 he married Connie Poliski, and she preceded him in death on December 14. 2019. Jack is survived by 3 children & 5 grandchildren: Steve (Mini) Bauman of Gaylord, MI. & their children Elizabeth Mastej and her daughter Aylin,  & Cole Bauman, Jackie (Tom) Schultz of Newaygo, MI. & their children Aaron & Erica (Kevin) Pegley, Tom (Selena) Bauman of Atlanta, GA. & their daughter Alex (Taylor) Peebles & their daughter Blakely, and son Jack, arriving later this year. He is also survived by one sister, Marge Paschka of Manistee, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Patricia Bauman, James Bauman, Albert Bauman, Harold Bauman, Ronald Bowman, Evelyn (Stanley) Olson, Virgina (Leonard) Ball and infant twin sisters Arlene and Carlene.  A Memorial Mass will be held on at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Fr. Steve Geerling as Celebrant. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at church from 10-11 AM on Friday. Interment will be in Garfield Township Cemetery.
