Jack Kenneth Dufort, age 91 of Newaygo, passed away on Monday evening, January 8, 2024 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. He was born on June 22, 1932 in Sparta, Michigan to Collins & Pauline (Sixbury) Dufort. Jack was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, and he was a member of the Newaygo VFW Post #4249 where he had been a bookkeeper and member of the Honor Guard. He was an avid reader, and he enjoyed fly fishing. Sharing his favorite books and telling friends/caregivers at NMCF of his many travel/fishing adventures was always a highlight in his day-to-day activities. Jack is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Gary) Miller of Grand Rapids; 3 grandchildren: Brenda (David) Geary, Michael Ryan (Victoria) Adamczyk, Chelsea Haddad; 2 great-grandchildren, James & Scarlett Geary; sister, Donna Alexander of Ohio; brothers: David (Terry) Arends of Sparta, George (Connie) Arends of Sparta; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dufort of Florida; and by many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Dufort; daughter, Susan Dufort; and brother, Pete Dufort. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Newaygo VFW Post #4249.
