James "Jim" Willard Wallace, Sr., age 86 of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2023 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1937 in Orange City, Iowa to Laben Glen & Dorothy S. (Muilenburg) Wallace. Jim was a US Army Veteran, and he was a member of the Hesperia American Legion Post #411. He had worked at Fremont Lumber Company, he had been a dairy farmer, he was a truck driver for Gainey Transportation in Grand Rapids for 20 years, and he drove school bus for St Michael Catholic School in Brunswick. Jim was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Hesperia, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3111. He was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose #1555 in Fremont. On February 22, 1969 he married Judy Klemundt, and she survives him along with 7 children: Jimmy (Ninajo) Wallace, Jr., Jerry Wallace, Jeff (Sandi) Wallace, Jody (Tim) Hooker, Julie Kraley, Jane (Gordy) Balcom, & Joellen Wallace; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, & 1 great-great granddaughter; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, many nieces & nephews, & many cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Laben & Dorothy Wallace; son-in-law, Rich Kraley; grandson, Joseph Wallace; and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Marshall & Audrey Klemundt. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Hesperia with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at church from 11-1 PM on Friday. Interment will be at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Hesperia.
