James "Jim" Harold Osburn

James "Jim" Harold Osburn, age 68 of Fremont, passed away on Friday evening, September 29, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.  He was born on October 19, 1954 in Muskegon, Michigan to Jerry & Shirley (Thompsen) Osburn, Jr.  Jim was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and he had been employed by Federal Mogul in Sparta for many years.  He enjoyed working on old cars, and putting together model cars.  Jim also liked fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening.  On October 27, 1979 he married Lela "Jane" Calkins and she survives him along with 3 children:  Melissa Osburn, Sarah (Michael) Goodin, Nicky Osburn; 2 grandchildren, Tristan & Brynjanna; his mother, Shirley Osburn; brother & sisters:  Russell "Rusty" (Terri) Osburn, Roxann Osburn, Ronda Osburn, Rita Osburn, Victoria (Frank VanOrschot) Osburn.  He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Osburn, Sr.; and by his brothers, Jerry Osburn, Jr. & Michael Osburn.  A time to celebrate Jim's life and luncheon will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the family to help with expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
