James "Jim" M. Powers

James “Jim” M. Powers, age 65 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday evening, August 20, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.  He was born on July 30, 1955 in Eaton County, Michigan to John M. & Dorothea (Trahair) Powers.  Jim had worked in the maintenance department for various tool & die companies, and his favorite jobs were hauling RV’S nationwide and providing transportation for the Amish.  He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont.  Jim also liked to hunt, fish, play golf, and he always had a lot of big stories to share. On May 21, 1983 he married Elaine R. Luchies and she survives him along with 2 children, Mike Powers & Angela Powers; 1 granddaughter, Aria Elaine; his step-mother, Barbara Powers; 1 sister, Rosanne (Harland) Elliott; brothers-in-law:  Wayne (Kim) Luchies, Sidney (Anne) Luchies, Ellis (Debbie) Luchies; and several nieces & nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers, John M. Powers, Jr. & Jeff M. Powers; and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Marvin & Doris Luchies.  According to his wishes cremation has taken place, and a Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont with Rev.
