Jami Lee Weissert, age 47 of Whitehall & formerly of Muskegon, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023. She was born on April 27, 1976 in Shelby, Michigan to Reed & “MJ” Marva (Post) Colby. Jami coached football for nearly a decade at Reeths-Puffer, and she played the role of not only being a mother, but also a father to many. She enjoyed painting, crafting, sewing, scrapbooking & making people smile. Jami is survived by her four legged son, Jaxson; her son, Mike (“Mo”- Morgan Szost) Weissert; parents: “MJ” Marva & “Pops” Jeff Wilson, Reed & Kathy Colby; brothers & sisters: Jeff (Nancy) McLouth, Nicholas (Jessica) Proctor, Cassie (Mike) Lipka , Falisha Colby, Tasha Miller, Janae’ (Arnie) Pomeroy, & Justin (Katie) Wilson. She is also survived by many beloved nieces & nephews, and by her boys, you know who you are. Jami was preceded in death by her sister Teri Sue McLouth, and by her brother Chris “Louie” Anderson. A celebration of Jami’s life along with refreshments & food will take place from 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Mullally Park Pavillion (1850 Horton Road, Muskegon, MI 49445), a location where many may have first met her bubbly and energetic soul.
